It's basically just the "initial delay" you have at 0ms that's being forced to a minimum of 11ms. It never occurred to me that the natural delay in "delay and reverb" can completely ignore a 11ms signal latency. Brilliant.

Run the ReaComp and the JS: Major Tom Compressor in your effects chain to get an excellent vocal compression chain to really bring up the vocal in a dense mix. I just spent a lot of money on third party plug-ins and I still find myself going back to the stock Reaper stuff from time to time.

Sends are fantastic for recording guitar aswell. Route your recording channel to a send, put an amp sim on said send. This allows you to have no amp sim on your record channel so your effectively recording di,s so u can proper have fun with mix downs then, or send your stems to engineers clean.

Are the effects just through monitoring? The track is still clean in recording? 2:08 oh so the terminology is "real time effect".

The 990 mics are great in a lot of ways but they are not "true" to sounds being recorded in most cases. This is especially true when it comes to vocal. You need only record it side by side with other vocal mics to see the difference. I tested mine against a Neumann TLM-103, an Audio Technicia AT4033, a Rode NT1a, and a Cap modded MXL 990, They all sounded really close to exactly like the artist I recorded except the stock 990 which cheated too much on the high end and didn't capture enough low and low-mid. However, the cap nodded 990 sounded more "professional and finished" then all of them. I was really surprised.
